About Dooley DirectYears before people shopped on the Internet, Roger Dooley employed sophisticated direct marketing software and techniques to grow in the catalog marketing business.
In 1982, he co-founded Microsphere, Inc., to serve the nascent home computer market. The firm ultimately grew to be the major catalog marketer in the Texas Instruments and Commodore home computer markets, and a major factor in the early PC market.
In 1995, Dooley co-founded CompStar Services (later CompStar Technologies), an information technology outsourcing firm. Although initially targeted at firms needing help with managing their networks and supporting desktop users, within a few years CompStar began offering search engine optimization services to build web traffic for its clients. Under Dooley's direction, the firm expanded its services into the full range of web and search engine marketing, including pay per click (PPC) management, web design and coding, and web community building. Clients ranged from small e-commerce websites to Fortune 500 corporations.
In April, 2005, CompStar split into two entities: Dooley Direct acquired all web operations, while the IT and voice/data infrastructure business remained as CompStar Technologies.
Today, Dooley Direct continues in the path set years earlier by its founder: specifically, the firm combines the art of marketing with the science of quantitative analysis and state of the art tools to produce bottom-line web results for its clients.
